Do not be the KILLER of yourself!

CANCER is the leading cause of death worldwide. It is one of the formidable and dreadful KILLERs that increases death statistics in this ageing society. Who should we blame for this scenario? And what actually cause all this? You may know or you may not know. YOU--may be the KILLER of yourself! Without concerning daily lifestyles, one may 'inject' the cancerous ingredients into their own body directly or indirectly.

DO U KNOW that harmful ingredients are found in almost all personal care products that we may use everyday? It is okay if you don't know or are unsure as I did not have an exact answer too before this..until I have done my own research today.

Well, not as a formal report or school assignment, I will just 'present' it to you in a simple way. "Sharing is caring", I care about you, thus I wanna share this with you =D

Before making decision in purchasing any products, please try to avoid products that contain carcinogens such as:

(1) Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) , Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) 硫酸月桂酯钠
- found in harsh detergents
- functions as a surfactant to break down water surface tension.
- favourite of tooth-paste and shampoo manufacturers. (In fact, we could find it in every brand)
- SLS is a mutagen. (capable of changing info in gen material in cells)

(2) Propylene glycol 丙二醇
- colourless, viscous, hygroscopic liquid CH3CHOHCH2OH, used in anti-freeze solutions, in hydraulic fluids and as solvent; also known as 'propanediol' (American Heritage Encyclopedia Dictionary)
- usually discovered in anti-freeze, brake and hydraulic fluid, de-icer, paints and coatings, floor wax, laundry detergents, pet food, tobacco, cosmetics, toothpastes, shampoos, deodorants, lotions, processed food etc.
- "A published clinical review showed propylene glycol causes a significant no. of reactions and was a primary irritant to the skin even in low levels of concentrations." (The American Academy of Dermatologists, Inc. Jan '91)

(3) Talc 滑石
- very fine substance which used as 'dry lubricant'.
- chemically similar to asbestos (a well-known carcinogen)
- found in many body and baby powders, feminine powders and many cosmetic products.
- also used as a lubricant on condoms!
- "Talc...(on condoms)...may result in fallopian tube fibrosis with resultant infertility. Question raised by Doctors Kasper & chandler in Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) 3/15/95 (Nutrition Health Review Summer 1995)
- Talc is linked to Ovarian Cancer.

(4) Alcohol 酒精
- higher content was discovered in mouthwash products
- Men: 60% higher risk
Women: 90% higher risk (Natural Cancer Institute 4/22/91)
- Alcohol is linked to Oral Cancer.

(5) Fluoride 氟化物
- "Fluoride is linked to 10,000 cancer deaths yearly. Fluoridation is also responsible for 40 mil. cases of arthritis, dental deformity in 8 mil. children adn allergic reactions in 2 mil. people.(Dr. Dean Burke & Dr. John Y, National Cancer Institue, U.S.A.,1997)

(6) Synthetic fragrance 人造香精
(7) Artificial colourings 人造色素
(8) DEA, TEA, MEA 乙醇胺
(9) Mineral oil 矿物油
(10) Petrolatum 石油副产品
(11) Tallow 动物脂肪
(12) Bentonite 一种土质
(13) Kaolin 高岭土
(14) Collagen 胶原
(15) Elastin 交叉蛋白
(16) Formaldehyde 防腐剂
(17) Lanolin 羊毛脂
(18) Placenta extract 胎盘素
(19) Lead 铅

(20) Aluminium 铝
- a metal; 3rd most common element in environment.
- toxin in body.
- found in processed food, antiperspirants, antacids, cosmetics, paper products, beverage cans, foil and cookware.
- Aluminiun is linked to Alzheimer's disease.


WAKE UP, WE'RE KILLING OURSELVES!!!
There is HOPE... ...
It's time to take some action and there's no better time than now!
